SNiP provides a variety of pet vaccinations for cats and dogs. It is absolutely critical to vaccinate your pet. Doing so prevents disease to your animal and others. Once vaccinated, you’ll want to see your regular veterinarian for shots to “boost” your pet’s protection throughout their lifetime. Even if you expect your animal to live mostly indoors and without contact from other animals the entire veterinary community recommends vaccinations.
Main Cat Vaccinations
At a very minimum you should ensure your feline friend is vaccinated for rabies, FVRCP (distemper), FHV and FHV-1, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), Feline Lukemia (Felv), Bordatella, and Chlamydia. All of these prevent diseases that are infectious and dangerous to your cat’s well-being. Most cats do not have any side effects from the administration of these shots though if you see anything out of the ordinary consult whomever administered the procedure.
Main Dog Vaccinations
At a very minimum you should ensure that your canine friend is vaccinated for canine parvovirus, distemper, canine hepatitis and rabies. Other vaccines are given depending on the dog’s exposure risk. These include vaccines against Bordetella bronchiseptica, Borrelia burgdorferi and Leptospira bacteria.
